Multiplying and accelerating
Kingdom leaders in
real battlegrounds
“Then Philip ran up to the chariot and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. ‘Do you understand what you are reading?’ Philip asked. ‘How can I,’ he said, ‘unless someone explains it to me?’ So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him” (Acts 8:30-31).
Favor’s Portable Bible Schools mobilize new disciple makers in spiritual and physical war zones. Hungry for the Word and for training, these emerging leaders come from hidden corners for the two-month theological education Favor brings to rural villages, always moving further outward into the unreached tribes. This ministry helps tens of thousands overcome barriers to spiritual maturity by the Holy Spirit and the Word.

Each bootcamp trains participants to live Biblically in Jesus’s Kingdom and multiply disciples in their context. Taught by national leaders to multiply and accelerate new leaders, each Portable Bible School (PBS) rejuvenates lifestyles around the Word and instills a love for the One behind the words.
The Training
The curriculum incorporates evangelism, discipleship, holy living, church leadership, raising Godly families, bible study, the power of prayer, forgiveness, and character building. They become equipped to go out and transform their community. This is the great multiplier effect whereby national leaders establish churches in their villages.
During the PBS at least two Favor trainers live with the community they are training, often far from cities and their families. Traveling experts, on special topics ranging from marital counseling to health and hygiene, rotate among the PBS sites, which Favor coordinates in waves of 40+ communities at a time. Each PBS training site requires months of preparation and registration. Even more months of follow up are needed with community development component ministries like women’s empowerment and trauma counseling, or the construction of new physical churches.

This education, offered for free to all who make the commitment to put the whole Word of God into practice, covers the essential theological training anyone would need to serve as a pastor, teacher, or other function of the body of Christ in their sphere of influence.
Most importantly, each of the tens of thousands of African leaders we graduate through PBSs leave with the Holy Spirit, the means to continually learn from God throughout their walks, a physical Bible in their own language, and the training to make disciples and start (or rejuvenate) healthy congregations of people following Jesus together.
"I will call them 'my people' who are not my people; and I will call her 'my loved one' who is not my loved one" (Hosea 2:23).

As we strive onward, we will always reflect the importance of our heritage and history. Like the above scripture says, we are a lost people and the Good Lord has made a way to win us back. Through restoration and mercy we can be transformed. Our PBSs are at the core of the transformed heart of Favor. From the very beginning, during the war in Uganda, we established this format to teach and equip new believers to be tools for the Kingdom. When refugees were being sent to camps in Gulu after atrocious horrors were committed to their homes and families, Favor arrived with the opportunity to hear the Gospel and to do something with it. As witchcraft and war have been the main weapons of the enemy, people are now equipped to fight back with the Word and the Holy Spirit. Through his guidance and grace, Uganda has slowly changed into a new place, village by village.
The desire to know God and to serve Him is great. People are responding to dedicate their lives to ministry and transform their nation. In addition to the training, some villagers are offered the opportunity to go to our Leadership Training Institute or be hired onto our Radio ministry staff, as well as, our expanded efforts to train the youth of these villages through God's Institute for Transformation (GIFT). It’s amazing to see how God is using national leaders who know the culture and languages powerfully and effectively in spreading the Gospel and transforming lives and communities, resulting in church planting and communities revitalized around the Word of God believed and practiced.
