Transformation is flowing from heaven to hundreds of people in the Karamoja region of Northeastern Uganda through Favour of God Ministries! Local missionaries have reported that recently 1,569 people completed Portable Bible School training in 10 teaching centers, 208 families and marriages found peace through trauma healing that Favour of God teams conducted, and 1,812 accepted Christ as Lord and Savior!
One woman, Mrs. Odera, who completed the Portable Bible School training has a newfound confidence in God’s ability to work through her - a confidence that has been going steady and strong. Mrs. Odera, though she had been a member of the church for 10 years prior to the training, said she used to be fearful about taking part in ministry and had never shared her faith with even one person. She used to think that God wouldn’t use a woman to share the Gospel, even with the help of the Holy Spirit; and even if God would, He wouldn’t use her because she was uneducated and had no background in evangelism.
During the PBS training, Mrs. Odera learned that God can use and guide anyone who is available to follow Him into ministry. She also learned that God doesn’t need someone to be educated to be a minister of His grace and truth because even the Apostle Peter hadn’t been well educated.
“When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.” (Acts 4:13)
Then with a bold confidence that replaced the fear that held her back, Mrs. Odera began sharing her testimony with all of her neighbors.
One of the first responses she got was from a male neighbor who refused to listen since he had a strong Catholic foundation that didn’t allow him to understand Jesus in a personal way. Mrs. Odera remembered from the training that the Holy Spirit powerfully affects the heart. So she began to pray for her neighbor, and before too long he accepted the Jesus who knows him and has a plan for his life!
Another one of Mrs. Odera’s neighbors, who had been a drunkard, was so surprised by her testimony that he abandoned his alcoholism and became a follower of Christ because of her!
Mrs. Odera has already led 20 souls to faith in Jesus and is moving to a neighboring village to share the Gospel with it as well!
